Brownie vs. Blondie

I believe this argument dates back many years. Well, maybe not, but I’d like to think dessert was a part of everyone’s life since the beginning of time.

So what will it be? Chocolate or Vanilla?

Some people have asked me what a blondie is. My reply is often to buy one and find out… But I’ll tell you. A blondie is very similar to a brownie but instead of having a chocolate base it’s more a brown sugar/vanilla base. I bake it in a square/rectangular pan and cut them into squares just as I do with the brownies.

Sweet Peace Bakery specializes in Caramel Pecan Blondies currently found at Sitwells in Clifton. The basic blondie with pecans and half way through the baking process a brown sugar, maple syrup, butter (earth balance) and pecan glaze is spread on the half baked goodness. I bake them the rest of the way, add a drizzle and what do you have? Caramel Pecan Blondies! YUM!

Sweet Peace in Cincinnati

The word is out!  Cincinnati loves Sweet Peace Bakery.  Here is what CityBeat has to say:

Best Vegan Baked Goods
While we are generally a carnivorous bunch, our vegan friends justifiably rave about the all-vegan baked goods made by Mary Beth King of Sweet Peace Bakery. Her products can be freshly shipped daily or are available at select specialty markets around town, including Park Vine, Clifton Natural Foods and Melt. Once you try the Butterfinger Bar you might never do dairy again. Got Milk? No. www.sweetpeacebakery.com.

CincyChic also loves the Cinnamon Rolls!

Wedding Bliss

This past weekend Sweet Peace Bakery provided a cake and other wonderful treats for a wedding…. look what we had to offer to the beautiful couple.

The bride ordered mini voreos, oatmeal dream pies with regular frosting and some with strawberry frosting. The cupcakes and wedding cake are both lemon flavored!

FYI – it’s in the plants!

This is a fun video – where do you get your protein?
